Have you ever had something rivet you from a deep sleep…maybe a thought, undetermined sounds or maybe a strange dream? Oddly, I was startled at 2 am this morning when an image of stainless steel salad tongs suddenly appeared in my mind. Yes…weird I know. Then, the words “There it is, right there….grab it!!!” These words continued repeating, so I took the opportunity to pray with great intention of falling back to sleep soon. I sensed my husband was sleeping lightly so I even shared my little early morning wake up call with him. He then prayed too.
Now, I have had these types of things happen before and I am sure you have too. But, this thought seemed to linger. I was beginning to hear God speak very clear. It seemed as if there was an urging from my Savior to reach out and grab what He has in store for me…to not be fearful and to totally trust Him. And currently for me that happens to be in the form of finishing a book that I should have completed a long time ago. This process is involving sacrifice and yes, lots of self-doubt. But once again I was reminded to put my hands to the plow and allow God to help me “grab” what He has already promised me!
So, in faith we go forward as we hear Jesus tell us to “go ahead, grab it…it’s right there.” Many times we stop short of the blessings and beautiful plans that God has in store for us. We don’t reach out and grab what is right there before us! We know we want to, but fear stops us dead in our tracks.
I don’t know what is before you or what you need to “grab”…but I do know that through prayer, study and trust in Jesus you will have victory!
